Lancement de l’association des parents d’étudiants de l’EM Normandie et du nouveau site Internet dédié à ce public

Le 18 octobre 2023 sur son campus de Paris-Clichy, l’EM Normandie a accompagné le lancement de l’association « Parents d’étudiants EM Normandie » en présence d’Elian Pilvin, Directeur Général de la Business School. Lors de cette soirée, les parents ont pu voter en temps réel, en présentiel et en distanciel, afin d’élire les membres du Bureau de l’association. Cette nouvelle instance représentative a pour but d’associer davantage les parents à la scolarité de leurs enfants et de les intégrer au centre de « l’expérience apprenante » de l’école. Dans le même temps, un nouveau site Internet Parents a été dévoilé. Spécialement pensé pour eux, il propose une navigation plus intuitive et un accès simplifié aux informations qui les concernent.

L’association des parents d’étudiants de l’EM Normandie, régie par la loi du 1^er juillet 1901 et le décret du 16 août 1901, est une instance hétéroclite qui comprend des membres de chaque campus de l’EM Normandie : Caen, Le Havre, Paris, Dublin, Oxford et Dubaï. L’association est dirigée par un bureau composé de 9 membres élus lors de l'Assemblée Générale du 18/10/2023.

L’association des parents d’étudiants de l’EM Normandie a pour objectifs de :

• Assurer une communication fluide entre toutes les parties impliquées, y compris la Direction, la faculté, les étudiants et les parents d'élèves, concernant le fonctionnement et les projets de l'École.
• Contribuer à l'amélioration du parcours académique des étudiants, en favorisant leur insertion professionnelle et en renforçant le réseau des parents.
• Représenter les parents au sein de l’EM Normandie et porter leur voix.
• Soutenir et promouvoir activement l'école dans ses actions telles que les jurys d’admission aux concours ou le versement de la taxe d'apprentissage.
• Apporter une aide aux étudiants en difficulté temporaire, que ce soit en termes de bourses, de prêts d'honneur, ou pour soutenir des projets nécessitant un financement initial en collaboration avec la Fondation de l'EM Normandie.

L’adhésion à l’association permet notamment d’avoir accès :

• Au calendrier académique de l’étudiant ;
• À l’espace de discussion instantanée entre parents ;
• À un contact privilégié pour un suivi personnalisé ;
• À des invitations aux moments clefs de l’école ;
• À deux rencontres privilégiées par an avec le Directeur Général.

« Naturellement, les parents veulent s’assurer que leurs enfants ont la scolarité qu’ils méritent. En ce sens, l’association leur sera vraiment utile et bénéfique. Elle sera la voix des parents et des étudiants et elle pourra soumettre des idées et des axes d’amélioration beaucoup plus facilement. Globalement, notre volonté est d’impliquer davantage les parents dans la vie de l’EM Normandie, par exemple en les conviant à des conférences, à des job datings, en les sollicitant pour les temps forts comme les jurys des concours d’admission ou en tant qu’intervenants. Leur aide sera précieuse pour faire avancer l’école et nous ne doutons pas qu’ils seront très volontaires et impliqués pour cela. » explique Elian PILVIN, Directeur Général de l’EM Normandie et membre de droit de l’association de parents.

Suite à une égalité parfaite du nombre de votes, ce n’est pas un, mais deux Présidents qui ont été élus pour diriger cette nouvelle instance : Thierry KUNTZ, père d'un étudiant du Programme Grande École à Caen et Jean-Michel LELOUARD, père d'un étudiant du Programme Grande Ecole en alternance au Havre.

« Je tiens à remercier l’ensemble des porteurs de ce projet au sein de l’école qui ont œuvré à bâtir les bases d’une future association qui a tout son sens à l’EM Normandie. Je remercie également très chaleureusement les personnes qui ont voté pour moi, et tiens à leur dire que mon engagement ne sera pas qu’honorifique. C’est un réel plaisir de pouvoir être au contact de ces étudiants extrêmement dynamiques et engagés. Cette belle énergie collective nous permettra d’œuvrer au développement et au rayonnement de l’association mais aussi et avant tout de la marque EM Normandie. Désormais, nous allons nous mettre au travail pour définir ensemble les principes de gouvernance et les grandes lignes d’un plan d’action détaillé. »  déclare Thierry KUNTZ, Directeur Général chez ataWay-management.

Rappelons qu’en cette rentrée 2023, l’EM Normandie accueille 6 500 étudiants, tous programmes et campus confondus, dont 2 000 nouveaux entrants.

Un nouveau site Internet « Parents d’étudiants EM Normandie »

En parallèle du lancement de l’association, un nouveau site Internet « Parents d’étudiants EM Normandie » vient d’être mis en ligne. Il permet de retrouver l’ensemble des informations essentielles liées à la scolarité des étudiants : les différents programmes, le calendrier académique, les propositions d’aide pour financer les études, les modalités et périodes de stages, d’alternances ou encore d’expatriation, etc… autant de ressources ciblées pour les parents, désormais plus accessibles.

Une rubrique « actualités » mise à jour en temps réel a également été intégrée afin de suivre quotidiennement la vie de l’école et ses avancées, les actions menées sur les différents campus, les grandes annonces de la Direction, etc.

On 18 October 2023 at its Paris-Clichy campus, EM Normandie launched the "EM Normandie Student Parents" association attended by Elian Pilvin, CEO of the Business School. During this evening, parents had the chance to vote in real time, face-to-face and remotely, in order to elect the members of the association’s Bureau. The aim of this new representative body is to involve parents more closely in their children's schooling and to integrate them into the centre of the school's "learning experience". At the same time, a new Parents website was inaugurated. Specially designed for them, it has a more intuitive browsing design and easier access to the information they need.

The EM Normandie Parents' Association, governed by the law of July 1^st, 1901 and the decree of August 16, 1901, is a diverse body that includes members of each EM Normandie campus: Caen, Le Havre, Paris, Dublin, Oxford and Dubai. The association is managed by a committee of 9 members elected at the General Meeting of 18/10/2023.

The objectives of the EM Normandie Parents' Association are to:

• Maintain smooth communications between all parties involved, including management, the faculty, students and parents of students, regarding the School’s operation and projects.
• Help improve students' academic careers, promoting their integration into the world of work and bolstering the parents' network.
• Represent parents in EM Normandie and give them a voice.
• Actively support and promote the school in its actions, such as entrance panels and student loan payments.
• Provide assistance to students in temporary difficulty, whether this is in the form of grants or loans, or to support projects requiring initial funding in collaboration with the EM Normandie Foundation.

Membership of the association gives you access to:

• The student’s academic calendar;
• An instant messaging space for parents;
• A personal contact for individual support;
• Invitations to the high points of the scholastic year;
• Two special meetings a year with the CEO.

“Naturally, parents want to make sure their children get the education they deserve. As such, the association will be of real use and benefit to them. It will act as the voice of both parents and students, and will help them propose ideas and areas for improvement much more easily. Overall, our aim is to get parents more involved in the EM Normandie experience, for example by inviting them to conferences and job-dating events, as well as asking them to participate in key functions such as admission panels or as guest speakers. Their help will be invaluable in developing the school further, and we have no doubt that they will be very willing and committed," explains Elian Pilvin, CEO of EM Normandie and an ex-officio member of the parents' association.

Following a tie in the number of votes cast, not one but two Chairs were elected to lead this new body: These were Thierry Kuntz, father of a student on the Grande Ecole programme in Caen and Jean-Michel Lelouard, father of a student on the Grande Ecole work-study programme in Le Havre.

"I'd like to thank all the people at the school who are behind this project and who have worked hard to lay the foundations for such a meaningful future association at EM Normandie. I would also like to extend my warmest thanks to those who voted for me, and to tell them that my commitment will not be merely in an honorary capacity. It's a real pleasure to have the opportunity to work with these extremely dynamic and committed students. This fantastic group energy is going to enable us to work on the association's continued expansion and influence, and above all on the EM Normandie brand. We are just now working together to establish the principles of governance and the broad outlines of a detailed action plan," says Thierry Kuntz, CEO of ataWay-management.

At the start of the 2023 academic year, EM Normandie will be welcoming 6,500 students across all programmes and campuses, including 2,000 new entrants.

A new "Parents of EM Normandie students" website

In parallel with the association's launch, a new "Parents of EM Normandie students" website has just gone online. It provides all the essential information you need to know about student education: the various programmes, the academic calendar, financial aid for studies, information on the procedures and times of year that apply to work placements, sandwich courses and overseas study, etc. All targeted resources for parents, which are now more accessible.

A 'news' section, updated in real time, has also been added for daily updates on the school's activities and progress, actions on the various campuses, major announcements from management, etc.
