On 19 January, EM Normandie Business School launched its first fiction podcast: Origin. The first 5 episodes (5/8) are available on all listening platforms.

The first school to dabble in sound fiction, EM Normandie has produced a series of 8 episodes that take the listener on a journey with Youssra, a student at EM Normandie in 2079. Developed and created in-house with Caen-based studio Belle Ecoute, this highly innovative concept places the school at the heart of tomorrow's challenges.

The plot
"It is 2079. Youssra dreams of living on Mars. When her school, EM Normandie, offers a few students a place to study on its campus in the first city on Mars, she jumps at the chance: Origin. The long-awaited evening when the winners are announced brings a different fate to what Youssra and her best friend expected. From the Le Havre campus to the OriginOne spaceship, Youssra finds herself caught in the firing line between the pro-Earth and pro-Mars factions, and will have to cast off the weight of her family heritage.”

The making-of

The recording was done in mid-December 2021 on EM Normandie’s Le Havre campus. Six actors, known for their appearances on Netflix and OCS, attended, as well as a number of EM Normandie students, all fans of this new type of communication.

The 10-15 minute episodes will be broadcast every Wednesday at 5pm, for 8 weeks on the School's website

If this fiction podcast proves to be as successful as we anticipate, a second season will be produced at the start of the 2022 new academic year.
